Below are examples of soft sculpture Border Terriers that are available. All are limited editions or
bespoke, one-off creations. Whilst “Archie” is a limited edition of just 5, “Max” is based on my very own Border Terrier, and may be customised to replicate customers’ own pets. “Max” The larger, Max, Borders are made from Schulte Mohair, a mixture of course guard hairs and a softer dense Mohair, resulting in the correct texture for a Border coat. Their little faces are needle sculpted and have a black whiskery muzzle with black wired ears, although markings can be tailored to customers’ requirements. Their eyes are black or deep amber glass with lidded detail and they have hand sculptured porcelain noses. |

Their necks and rear legs are
cotterpin jointed. Pawpads are of ultrasuede, and the entire creation is given a real-life weight with a mix of encased fine steel shot and polyester fibre.
When seated, they are approximately 33cm (13in) high. “Archie” "Archie" is my latest puppy, and is a limited edition and entirely hand sewn and designed by me. Made from the finest Steiff Schulte mohair in a light oat with contrasting Schulte Alpaca ears and muzzle in a walnut shade. He sits at 16cm (6.5in) and is five way cotterpin jointed so that he can have many cute poses. Archie has German glass eyes, an embroidered nose and his little face is scissor sculptured to give him a sweet puppy look. All four paws are appliqued, needle sculptured and shaded to give a realistic appearance and finally he has been weighted with encapsulated steel shot to give him a nice weight. |
